    Digital Camera Questions

10 megs is probably overkill for your purposes, though with the higher rez you can also crop into it to focus on a specific area and still print your 8x10s. I've seen nice 8x10s from a 2 meg image. Read more here: Camera Resolution - What Camera Resolution Do I Need?

The real cost of starting in expediting

So.....unlike a few others on this board, once you win the lottery you WON'T be returning to expediting?

    Hello, new to expeditors.

Dispatch, it's no secret this board is a tough crowd. Keep those tips coming, we newbies are listening!

    where are the loads

Expedite, I gather you do not work with cargo vans, and specifically Sprinters. There has been some debate on this board over the merits of having greater than a two-skid capacity in a van.

    Sitting at the Walmart

Seems like a lot of effort, getting hired at all those stores just for the parking. :o

    Premium Transportation Logistics?

Thanks for explaining, Dispatch. So let's say we know the night prior that we'll be green at 0800 and are oos until then. Can this be communicated to you in order to resolve the above scenario?

    Hello, new to expeditors.

Do tell! If this forum teaches us anything, it's that we don't already know nearly as much as we think we know.

    Looking for used cargo van

Sorry to hear of that most unfortunate incident. I have a lead on a few tall and short 2005 Sprinters under $10k. If that's of interest, PM me.

    '06 vans going OOS?

Speaking of shorts, I've got a lead on ten 2005 shorts (118 wb Sprinters), each with high ceilings, each around 200k miles, each under $10k, each for sale by the original maintainer. If someone wanted to chance getting an older two-skid Sprinter approved by a carrier, this may be a way to go. Or...

    kindle or nook or...ipad?

The new Barnes & Noble Nook Color is a terrific value at $250, both as a reader and for basic web browsing. We also picked up the new HP eStation. For $350, you not only get a wifi printer/fax/scanner/copier, but its interface is a removable display that functions as a reader/browser not unlike...

    Sprinter options

One assumes xiggi mis-spoke and meant he DOES think larger skid capacity is more profitable. For pure gross revenue, bigger is surely always better. How much better is up for debate, and your mileage may vary, literally. A minimal loss in fuel mileage in a larger unit may offset a minimal gain...

    Sprinter options

By my accounting, that's two skids plus a narrow bunk, or one that lifts out of the way in some manner. Bulkhead cuts that space further.

    '06 vans going OOS?

I've also heard reports of 30mpg, though that's not much help if the vehicle gets denied by the carrier due to its age. :(

    '06 vans going OOS?

Figured as much, thanks aileron. May have to pick up a T1N just to get my feet wet. Heck, even the 118 wb should accommodate two skids. (Imagine if private prop planes were dropped from service due to age....)

    '06 vans going OOS?

Just curious if we'll start seeing more and more '05 and '06 vans going out of service as they reach their five-year service lives...or if carriers allow existing units to be grandfathered into continuous service despite their age....

    The "Never Ending" Story

...team up. She sped past the swamp and pulled up to Bubba's single-wide. She banged on the door. Bubba answered, pager in hand. "Hop in, lad! We've got a run to Alaska, we do!" Puzzled, Bubba grabbed his duffle bag and his double-cheese with anchovies. As he entered the sparkling Sprinter...
