    Corgratulations to Load 1

John speaks the truth. As I have posted I thought is was going to be "how much do you spend" type of thing. But it is extensive and not only takes a commitment from the company to complete but you have to have more than 1 or 2 dedicated drivers completing the driver survey. Mine reported...

Who has freight for straight trucks?

Thanks, I can see it being tough to fire a bad fleet owner when you have a good driver.

Straight Truck Pay - % or mileage

I have always been of the mind set that percentage pay allows the O/O to share in the business and make better decisions. And that was on the truck load side. But it even seems more important with S/T's. Am I off base? What is a good percentage to run for? Are rates are better than solid...

Who has freight for straight trucks?

Thank you. We do try very hard but never want to sit back. We are turning down a lot of ST freight and will be focusing our efforts on growing this area. We have the freight, we have the resources to manage and dispatch. Just want to make sure we have a good program before we go full force...

Who has freight for straight trucks?

Thanks, funny thing is so much of that is common sense I always find it interesting that anyone would run a business without much of what you are saying as a base line. What role to carriers play in working out disputes between drivers and owners? This seems to be an issue that I hear a lot about.

Who has freight for straight trucks?

Being new to the world of dealing with fleet owners (only have one on our Tractor side, rest are O/O's). What are fleet owners looking for in a carrier? I am in the process of creating our offering for ST's and wanted to get some input.

Is the multi-carrier business model worth it?

Great post. I have been asking the same question a lot lately. I have found several in favor of it that have been able to articulate and document the Pro side but you are the first to articulate the Con side so well.

Let's kick some butt! Get EXPEDITED CARRIERS listed here....

Yeah, last October we relocated to Chattanooga. Little sooner than we had expected but we where at the point on our growth stage that we need to make changes and I wasn't go to do that in IL. I think Load 1 has some of the nicest facilities out there. John runs a first class operation.

    Question Regarding Whirlwind Express

Glad you chimed in John. I think someone was saying you weren't paying them. (that was a joke people) Some very valid points. And I will add about asset based companies, if you know what you are looking for you tend to see them crumbling long before the go under. But then you have an Eleets...

    Question Regarding Whirlwind Express

Zorry is so correct - do not assume because someone has a big building or company trucks that implies financial stability. Eleets is a great example. Company trucks, buildings, etc and the bank shut them down because they got over extended. Now also not saying that is also a sign of bad...

    Question Regarding Whirlwind Express

First, this is not an option that we are offering anymore. All new contracts are weekly pay. Period. But financially, if you look at rolling the money every 30-days that is 36% APR. The initial thought around this was that we where helping our drivers that had an interest in doing so move...

    Question Regarding Whirlwind Express

Farm2Fleet Rocketman, as a very active member of another forum I completely understand what you are saying. And I fully expect people to sit back and take a wait and see attitude. I do hope that we get feedback along the way. I do plan on being more active on this forum as I have been on...

    Question Regarding Whirlwind Express

Yes, Farm2Fleet now has all the WW units that wish to move under our umbrella. We will be doing the billing and paying of drivers. So now they will have weekly pay, docs in by Wed and ACH done Friday. WW will be an independent agent of Farm2Fleet and provide 24/7 dispatch for all of our...

When a truck/driver sits/takes a break for 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Collect?

Re: When a truck/driver sits/takes a break for 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Coll Now we can all spend days filling the forum with all the reason how someone that is unethical can defeat the system. And the horror stories of how this carrier or that abused the system. I have plenty of...

When a truck/driver sits/takes a break for 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Collect?

Re: When a truck/driver sits/takes a break for 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Coll Look into Macropoint. They have a single use option that works off the smart phone. Think it is a great up-charge option and allows you to gain access to larger accounts via some brokers.

Re: When a truck/driver sits/takes a break for 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Coll Bob, that is the great thing about America and being in business for yourself. You can set the rules that you are willing to live by. Personally, I could careless and would never pass up loads from NLM or...

When a truck/driver sits/takes a break for 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Collect?

Re: When a r 4 weeks why does Qualcomm have to Collect? Seems like we have brought up a lot of different issues past the OPs question. You have fixed expenses and variable expenses. QC is a fixed expense. And you do not want to pay for it as a variable expense. Your costs for usage would be...
