How Many Times Has Trump Claimed an Iran Deal is Just Around the Corner?

37 (Source)

How many times was a deal actually just around the corner?

Zero

How do you explain this?

Trump lies.

The fact is, Trump chose to enter this war and every day, Trump chooses to keep it going.

Im convinced the Trump crime family is profiting bigely from this conflict.
I agree and they're not even trying to be all that secretive about it. Donald Trump is an utterly corrupt public official, engaged in self-dealing at a scale never before seen. Trump probably plans on pardoning himself and his family and friends before he leaves office. He may have already done so and the document is on file in the event he suddenly drops dead.

I admit this is pure speculation on my part, but it's the considered opinion I have.

Another Terrible Inflation Report for Republicans and Americans

The Labor Department reported today that prices climbed at an annual rate of 4.2 percent in May. The price increases are driven by spiking energy costs triggered by the war with Iran ... a war of choice started by Trump and continually supported by cowardly Republicans who lack the balls to stop him.

Four more inflation reports to go until the November midterm elections. They are bad and likely to get worse.

P.S. The price increases are not driven by Joe Biden or the Democrats and the voters know that.

A shameful day indeed...

Cage fights at the White House: What to know as Trump hosts UFC

I heard someone suggest that Trump is doing this UFC thing because he sees in the polls the young men who helped elect him are turning against him. Since many of them are UFC fans, putting a UFC showcase event near the White House this is Trump's way of winning back his fans. I'm not sure I agree with that. It is the case that he turned the White House into a Tesla car lot and sales pitch at one time. He's a showman so events like these are to be expected, I guess, classless as they may be. They undermine the dignity the White House might otherwise have.

One other thing to consider, although Donald Trump does not own the UFC, he holds a financial stake through stock in its parent company, TKO Group Holdings. The organization is currently led by CEO Dana White, a longtime personal ally of his.
Can we say Quid Pro Quo.

Donald Trump Gives Aging a Bad Name

There is lots of talk about Trump's age as he turns 80 today. Let me begin my own with this quote. Notice it is not about Trump but anyone who is 80. The speaker makes a fair point, and Trump deserves that grace.

“'Somebody at 80 years old just doesn’t have the physical stamina, the mental stamina for that office,' said Rahm Emanuel, a prominent Democrat ... who has called for a mandatory retirement age of 75 for many top federal positions. Mr. Emanuel, who served as a chief of staff to President Barack Obama and a top aide to President Bill Clinton, said that the presidency is especially taxing.

“'It ages you in a way that no other stress in your life does,' he said." (Source)

To be honest, I'm surprised Trump is still alive. He is 80, and obese. His diet and sleep patterns are terrible. In my experience, I can't remember knowing anyone who was both 80 and obese. Lots of people I know are over 80, but none of them have obesity like Trump.

The reason I say Trump gives Aging a bad name is because he is clearly in the aging-avoidance camp. Trump denies the effects of aging instead of acknowledging them. He gets treatment for his symptoms but he is not proactive in managing his health. He does not exercise (driving a golf card and taking a few steps to hit a golf ball is not exercise). He does not eat in a way that will prolong his life. As an ageing human being, Trump is a poor role model.

Contrast that to the 80+ year-olds we see in our gym. These folks enjoy their rigorous exercise several times a week. Even as they age, they show increases in their strength, stamina and balance. While time eventually takes its toll on every one of us, and while some people have genetic advantages, all of our gym octogenarians enjoy a far better quality of life than they otherwise would if they did not eat healthy and exercise.

Trump embodies the age-victim mindset. I'm getting older and there's nothing I can do about it. Aging is bad and I resist its effects by denying them as much as i can, and when forced t do so, having them treated by others.

Our gym members are the same age and subject to the same calendar but they feel better because they are not victims. They are proactive. They have learned what works. And they consistently put in the work to obtain the results they want.

The massive attention now given to Trump and ageing saddens me because there is a better way to age than what Trump is modelling, but because Trump gets the press he does, hundreds of millions of Americans are seeing the bad model, not the good one.

Do You Believe It?

We've been down this path literally dozens of times. Do you believe Trump this time, after he has lied in the previous 35-40 times? On Saturday (yesterday) he said the deal would be signed Sunday (today). Nothing was signed. What we got instead is the claim that something, the details of which are not verified, will be signed on Friday.

"Diplomatic breakthrough: The US and Iran say they have reached an agreement that will take effect on Friday. President Donald Trump said the US is lifting its naval blockade on Iranian ports, and that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen after the agreement is signed. The full text has not yet been released." Wow, Trump only spent $35 billion on the war in Iran to get the Strait of Hormuz open—which it already was before he spent a nickel. Beginning to understand how he bankrupted his casinos.

Bankrupt businesses six times! And the $35 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to the billions and perhaps trillions of economic harm the war (not over yet) has caused Americans and people worldwide. And the blood of the dead Iranian schoolgirls and US military killed will be forever on Trump's hands, and on the Republicans in Congress who failed to stop this insane war monger.

Trump's New Fed Chair Has Not Lowered Rates

Trump's new Fed Chair, Kevin Warsh, has been on the job a short time and chaired his first Fed meeting yesterday and today. At the press conference that follows those meetings, Warsh confirmed that interest rates were not lowered. They were unchanged. That's a bit of a surprise given Trump's insistence that rates come down. New guy. Trump's guy. No rate change.

To those who pay attention, it's not a surprise at all. Warsh has only one vote on the board. It has never been true that a Fed chair has the power to unilaterally reduce rates. That's contrary to what Trump often implied when he brutally and disrespectfully ravaged former chair Powell (who Trump appointed in his first term as president).

I believe it's only a matter of time before Warsh becomes similarly ravaged by Trump. When he had his chance to forecast rates as Fed governors usually do, Warsh remained silent. That's rare for a Fed chair. Warsh likely knows rates are going to be raised by the Fed to fight the Trump-induced inflation. Better to stay silent about rate hikes and avoid Trump's wrath as long as he can, Warsh probably reasons.

The Fed sets short-term rates. The markets set long-term rates. Those have been increasing in recent weeks and the upward pressure continues.

Long time, no jib-jab.

I voted for Trump this time around. I knew he was a narcissist, but never expected the crap he's pulled/pulling. He turned his back on the voters, is blowing OUR money to no end, and is beholden to Israel and Nutty-yahoo like no president since LBJ. To put it mildly, he can't kick the bucket soon enough. Unless Vance gets in, and shows he's not Trump, which would take a lot of bending the knee to the PEOPLE instead of donors, he's not getting my vote neither. And God forbid Gavin gets in! But that is not our decision anymore, as voters; and it hasn't been for quite sometime.
