I have run alot of expedited jobs using something as small as a car (minivan would be overkill but run what you have) ... most of those jobs are pharmacy (meds) (some are regular routed as much as 635 miles per day 7 days a week!) , medical trays , medical specimens and test samples (soil ...
I drive as an owner operator for other companies and I also have drivers that drive for me as owner operators.
Personally I would give or try to give two weeks notice to any companies that I drive for if possible (obviously if I had a medical emergency on myself two week notice may not be...
HI,
I was on DAT the other day and ran across a number of U box loads
I have often wondered how hard it would be to raise the roof on an already tall roof sprinter to be able to carry U Boxes and other typically straight box truck tall loads (I think it may "only" need about another 2+ feet...
HI,
Just a question about taxes that may be best answered by a scenario ....
Assume a person makes $1.00 per loaded mile and the standard deduction for that year is .55 per mile.
The person drives a total of 10 miles to the pick up point, then 200 loaded miles to deliver and 210 miles back...
Hi
Definitely an interesting thread and something I would have not thought about had I been moving my own personal belongings... ( Sadly, I would have been in the wrong because my assumption would have been doing it for personal use would have caused me to think trucking rules would not apply...
Hi
Good point ....you know I spent all my time thinking about staying under 26, 001 combined GVWR that the under 10k limit must have gotten overlooked by me .
Most of the time when I'm running I'm usually running with very small things that can fit in the front seat or at most maybe a several...
Hi
I have approximately a 12-ft load length and 3,000 lb weight limit on my van if I use the cargo van
If I use the sprinter van I have approximately 14 ft load length and still roughly 3,000 lb weight limit.
If there is a larger load or load that's too big to be contained only within the van...
Hi
Thanks for the reply I guess I accidentally left that out.
My sprinter van is long and tall I think I have about a 3,000 lb weight limit on cargo and I have a load length of approximately 13 to 14 ft.... I'll have to find out exactly how long tho but I believe it's closer to 14 ft than 13...
Hi
Thanks for the reply... you know in my lengthy post thing I forgot to include that information!
Anyways I'm currently running a full size cargo van ( e350 extended) on the route.
Starting off from the Richmond area I'm loaded until I get to Roanoke where I'm basically fully open at that...
I think it could be banged out relatively well
Vans are so tall who's going to see way up there
But yeah it would be interesting to see how it worked out or if you did anything with it but I guess maybe we're still hanging after all this time!
Hi
As the title States I drive a sprinter van across the state of Virginia on a daily basis
My route literally consists of Virginia Beach to Richmond to Charlottesville to Lynchburg to Roanoke to Christiansburg and back
My timing is somewhat flexible but not totally flexible since I am on a...
