The Trump Card...

Referrals from a number of states have now become an active federal investigation. Bad news for the poor souls who signed their names to the documents in question. Maybe Trump will step in to help these dedicated supporters of his by paying their legal fees? After all, they literally put themselves on the line for him, seemingly at the direction of Trump's campaign officials. Might he step up to help them?

Mike Lindell's lawyers are dodging meetings for Dominion's defamation lawsuit and refusing to hand over discovery material, court documents show

Time for Judge Nichols to dispatch the Federal Marshals to haul the (allegedly former) crackhead's rear end in front of the Court, cite him for contempt, and then jail him ... until he orders his lawyers start complying with what the court ordered.

The Court has better things to do than to allow this infantile loon's frivolous claims and non-compliance to waste the Court's precious time and resources.

Looks like Ashli Babbitt wasn’t part of a mob after all, didn’t assault any officers, and was seen just walking through the velvet roped lines.

Looking for more on this, I came across this report:

With the denied appeal, four judges have now ruled on various aspects of this case. Two were appointed by Democratic presidents. Two were appointed by Republican presidents. The U.S. District Court judge who is overseeing the lawsuits was appointed by Donald Trump.

All four of these judges have ruled against the motions Trump ally Lindell made, finding instead for the plaintiffs.

muttly often speaks of partisanship in the justice system. It will be interesting to hear how he applies his partisan filter in a case like this, if he applies it at all.

So too with U.S. Supreme Court rulings. The U.S. Supreme Court is said to have a conservative majority and it includes three Trump appointees. Yet Trump has fared poorly before this court. His appointees and other justices consistently rule against Trump when Trump brings items before them to be heard.

And yet there are still those on our favorite expedite trucking forum that will continue to kneel In front of the orange master and spew more nonsense.

Maybe some shouldn’t deify judges. They can be influenced like anyone else. Many are just lawyers with robes on.
Peer pressure in an area that votes 95 percent Dems. They may not want upset the apple cart of a cushy well paying job. Many aren’t as smart as some think they are.
All you have to do is look at recent comments by supposedly the best judges in the land about how many children hospitalized withthe virus. Basic facts are difficult for them sometimes.

Or maybe the law still matters and, generally speaking, judges are people of integrity for whom the law matters more than party affiliation and the wishes of the president who appointed them.

Trump and his friends are not losing in court over and over again because of partisan bias. They're losing in court because of their prior bad acts, of which they are actually guilty, and/or their piss-poor legal arguments.

The normal folks in the barber shop I go to tend to agree with me, and me with them. So if real people in real barber shops are the authority, and if they disagree between shops, how do we know which one is the right one?

On matters of law, we do not go to barbers and barber shops. We go to lawyers and courts. If you were involved in a truck accident in which you were not at fault, but someone sues you just the same, who will you call, your barber or a lawyer?

All some have to do is look at all the lawyers and former prosecutors who ranted on twitter the four years of the Trump Presidency about the Russian collusion hoax to understand how partisan they are. Many people like that become judges. They take their partisanship with them on the bench and rule accordingly.

Most are lawyers.

Which means they are trained in the law ... usually well.

Peer pressure in an area that votes 95 percent Dems. They may not want upset the apple cart of a cushy well paying job.

Judges mostly tend to rule on their understanding of the law.

That is as it should be.

The judges we're talking about (DC Federal judges) don't stand for election - that's by design - so the partisan makeup of the jurisdictions they serve are irrelevant.

Many aren’t as smart as some think they are.

Basic facts are sometimes difficult for a lot of folks ... not just judges.

The Russia collusion wasn't a "hoax" ... read the Mueller Report (as well as the Senate Intel Committee's report) ... it's all documented there.
