The Fall of Afghanistan

Second! I personally would love to see Trump bankroll mercenaries to go in there and extract American citizens. That would be the ultimate slap in the face to the Democrat party. Him not even being president yet doing more for American citizens than Democrats
Why can't the American military take back Bagram Air Base? They should've never given it up in the first place, but we're sending in enough troops to recover that critical piece of the chess board from the band of illiterate goatherds that inhabit it now and use it to help rescue the thousands of Americans trapped in the world's armpit. An unidentified reporter posed this very question to Milley the clown at the joint press conference Tuesday. His response was stuttering incoherence, as though the idea was unthinkable. May God help us if we have to confront a real military force with Biden and his incompetent underlings in charge. It's not hard to imagine the US having to pay ransom to get our people out of there, while our Afghan allies are left behind.

They can, they just aren't allowed to by this Administration. The original plan was to keep a residual Force 2500 to 5000 troops. That would have been more than enough to back up the afghanis through air power and special operations. It's mind blowing to me because we have bases as well as floats on almost every area of the world. What's a small base in a place we need to be in?

Oh I hear you.. we would be absolutely screwed if China or Russia decided to get stupid. In fact this whole debacle may actually encourage China or Russia to be more aggressive to us and do things they wouldn't have dreamed of while Trump was in office.

At this point the Administration doesn't want to do something( like take back a strategic air base) and possibly escalate the situation. That is the situation they have put themselves in due to their incompetence, but agree, they need that air base.

They should have been scorched earth against the Taliban from day one. Literal, total extermination. They should have irreparably disabled anything left behind although there shouldn't have been any leaving behind.

Note: there once was an army who's uniform was black pJs,,,,they had no airforce, no ships, no subs, no heavy bombers,,,,,ther real name, Viet
Cong....there was an Army once that wore street clothes, had single shot muskets ..they hid in the woods and fought, they crossed the Delaware River and almost froze to death, they really had no ships and low on fighters, they beat the British who had food, clothes.cannons, and ships and the latest in fighting equipment...hmmm..... Look at us....at this moment America has lost her way.....where is Trump?

Who would want to live under a Taliban regime in Afghanistan? Most want out of the country(mass exodus) and all would be left is mostly theTaliban.

Latest reports this morning quote a State Dept release to our American citizens behind enemy lines in Afghanistan telling them NOT to attempt to get to the Kabul airport due to the dangerous conditions around the Taliban checkpoints and their perimeter around the airport. Our officials readily admit they don't know how many Americans are trapped over there, so it stands to reason they have no idea who is over there. At what point do they admit this is a full-flown hostage situation?

Meanwhile, at a Pentagon press conference this morning their spokesman reassures us that any American that can get to the gates at the Airport (that may or may not be open for security reasons) will be let in.

And while these nerds fiddle while Afghanistan burns, the British, French and Germans are sending their special forces in to exfiltrate their trapped citizens.

And while this disaster continues to unfold our Commander in Chief is once again off to Delaware for R&R.

A lot of stuff was left at the air base though even drones.....that base should never been handed over to anyone.
What's really stunning about this is that the Biden administration continued to ship equipment and munitions to the Afghan military AFTER the decision had been made to withdraw, knowing all the while that the Afghans would cut and run when that happened. It's as if they planned to equip the Taliban with the best military equipment in the world.

When your goal is to destroy the nation, as is the goal of the left, you do everything possible to bring about that outcome, including aiding and comforting our enemies.

I heard a former military person say in a radio interview that his biggest concern right now is the weapons they now have that are capable of shooting down the transport planes.

Remember when Biden said the Afghan army was one of the best equipped armies in the world? That just became the Taliban. Ya think they've got a lot of new friends - like the Iranians and Chinese? Wonder what Pakistan's thinking right now?
