Until you receive one of these letters. Even liberals are feeling it now. The silver lining, if there is one, that the dumber than dirt fools who initiated this mess are suffering from it. Not nearly enough, but at least they are suffering some.

Is Obama going to have these people stand behind him at the next press conference as examples of what the ACA is doing for our country?

"If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what."

Apparently, "period" and "no matter what" are ObamaCode for:

"Some restrictions apply. See store for details."

Why would you suspect that? My wife lost her plan. I would be more likely to suspect that most expediters who were purchasing their insurance on the open market have lost their plans.

In my personal situation...I have a better one now....:)

Don't forget to thank those of us who are getting reamed for making that possible for you! It is NOT a "free" benefit. SOMEONE is paying for it, that someone is people like my wife, and everyone else, who is now being FORCED into this situation. That is just SO WRONG!

I would be ashamed to take someone else's money, money that I did not earn, to better my self. That shame would be doubled if I knew that millions of people were being harmed by my taking advantage of it.

That is the problem with Marxism/Socialism etc, those on the receiving end seldom care about the damage done to those who's wages were taken from them.

Do I really need to explain it? I was referring to the fact most expediters don't have healthcare insurance.....

That is not keeping a plan, that is remaining irresponsible. Not the same thing. I don't know if that is a "fact" either. I doubt if that could be proved one way or the other. At least, not without a LOT of work and expense. I can't afford to do that survey in a way that would be reliable, I have to spend that money on outrageous health insurance premiums now. WAY higher premiums for MUCH LESS coverage. What a deal! ONLY the government could claim that is better!!

What pool are you in? Why is it cheaper? SOMEONE is paying the difference. That SOMEONE is paying the FEDERAL, STATE and LOCAL TAXES to fund Obama Care. Those NEW taxes are being tacked on to OUR plan starting next month. Those taxes, paid ONLY to benefit someone else to our detriment, will still be there even IF they allow us to keep our plan. OUR plan costs went up to lower other's plans and unless 67% of those "young people" sign up, at really much higher rates, the entire program will fall apart. Which is EXACTLY what they are after.

What is an "indirect" subsidy?

I am thinking what this board would have looked like.......say we roll the clock to the time everyone had to register...FORCED to be a number...example S.S.?.....man the discussions would have been off the chart...

I haven't a clue....Never had to BUY insurance before....I don't have a clue if it is a good price for the coverage or not....less then 500$ now....from the high risk pool of $800....

THAT Marxist program has done real well, has it not? IT'S BANKRUPT! Somewhere like 2.6 TRILLION dollars are unaccounted for. It, just like Obama Care, is a "Ponzi Scheme". Just like all other Ponzi schemes in the private sector, they are doomed to fail.

I know before the ACA ...coverage was prohibitive....VERY high rates and almost non existent because of pre existing condition crap....NOW insurance carriers are forced to actually compete....In a few years I see prices dropping as insurance carriers compete for the ones that need covering...

I've been insured through my wife's policy where she works. We got notice that her policy was being canceled. Now I'll need to start looking too. This is a large worldwide company with hundreds of thousands of employees. Still waiting to see what they will have to offer. She was paying $86 every two weeks out of her check for coverage for both of us.

With my low taxable income we may very well qualify for a government subsidy. If we qualify, I am going to take it. Paid taxes and had insurance our entire lives, if its offered it must be because we earned it over the years. At our ages, if we tried to purchase insurance ourselves, it would cost well over $1,500 a month. Can't afford to pay that much and continue our current lifestyle! Hoping everything works out!

There were always affordable plans, we had one. $272 per month and a $2500 deductable. Now it's $454, for 2014 and going to $808 in 2015. As to "pre-existing" conditions, why should other's pay to cover those?

Competition? LESS now. We once had a choice of hundreds of plans, now only 55. Some states far less than that.

I don't know what makes you think prices are going to come down when EVERYTHING we have seen so are prove they are going up and every projection says that will continue.

of course if you want a low deductible your rate will be higher...I chose the middle road...not like 5,000 and not like a 1,000....seems like the best deal for my budget....my thinking is: why pay $100 a month or $1200 a year more just to save MAYBE the difference of a 2,000 deductable I may never use and if I do big deal...
