Last Week....Where did the Freight Go?

Just want to check in with the rest of you, was last week a little off for you too? It could have been that I was stuck in small freight markets like Detroit & Chicago... It was my slowest week in quite a while. How about y'all?

It wasn't great for us either. And we were all over. St. Louis, Indiana, Alabama. I thought it was just our company but maybe not.

I only did 1800 miles in 4 jobs................yea it was a rough one, lost a lot of bids, couldn't figure it out. Seemed like the ankle biters were getting it all,

We were about the same. 1700 tot for 3 runs. And loads falling through left and right.

Beginning of the month is usually little slower. Hopefully we all will have a busy 7 weeks till July! I
Don't think any of us is going to knock the cover off the ball, but should just be busy enough we can all make a penny or two!

Last week was good for us (team s/t) Delivered near Charlotte on Monday morning, ran an instate run Tuesday, Raleigh to Memphis on Wed and Memphis to Denver Thursday-Friday. The two weeks prior were kind of slow, so hopefully things are picking up.

Load out of Denver headed to east Texas on Monday morning.

well...ill end the week with 2723 loaded miles, 2869 total miles and right at $1.19 all miles...with 1 carrier...

oh. solo in a Cargo Max.....oh and also hauled less then 500 lbs total weight...was like runnin empty all week..:)

It has a lot to do with the type of freight that is moved in the expediting industry. If your carrier moves a lot of stuff that has to do with luxuries like new cars then you are likely to pick up loads slowly and will have some weeks that drop right off as the economy knocks off the dust. I'm starting to see some increase in freight and more importantly rates in my industry so I think we are on the verge of a pretty good increase overall.
