Obama laughing all the way to the bank

Our federal government is so dysfunctional! The current debt ceiling agreement is a sham, through and through. Obama and the Dems promise relatively tiny budget cuts in later years in exchange for giving Obama an immediate $$$ Trillion increase of the nation's debt ceiling. The GOP has caved once again. One can be sure the Dems will craft this legislation in such a way as to allow backdoor tax increases through the discretion of the so-called Super Commitee.

Most likely, as in the case of passing ObamaCare, Congress will be voting on an outline proposal where thousands of pages of fill-in-the-blank details will trickle out long after actual voting happens. Just another sell-out scheme, negotiated behind closed doors by a handful of career politicians.

Obama wants this deal. Joe Biden likes this deal. Reid and McConnell like this deal. The Speaker of the House is pushing hard for this deal. Like Wolf Blitzer was saying last night on CNN, " Hey, at least they have a deal." As though any deal, even an atrocious deal was to be fervently wished for.

So, Obama gets his Trillions$$$ and the national debt is on a path to expand from 14.3 Trillion$$ to 22 Trillion$$ over the next ten years. This wasn't supposed to happen.

That list is all one needs to know the nature of the bill.

I'm hearing, though, from many left wing Demon-crats that out was their guys that caved, when out was clearly the GOP.

This isn't a done deal yet...I think the Tea Party might still blow this up in the house and there Dems in the senate that aren't happy too and just might vote against it along with the repubs...

What I find funny is the fact that they now have a deal, that the fear of our credit rating being downgraded is really a big deal as they tried to make it out to be and yes there is still a chance of that happening because this deal do not address the debt and the spending...and barry said that we could always pay the bills, it was just that the "appearance" of this mess weakened our country in the eyes of the international communuity and gave the appearanc that we couldn't pay our bills....oh and he also told the bankers that the country was not going to default....

All political BS...i hope the Tea Party blows this deal off the floor....

Problem is, with the party leaders finally getting on board on the same ship, so to speak, it's possible that the American public, none too bright and generally against anything that would derail the gravy train, might see the tea party as the problem rather than the providers of the unpleasant but necessary cure. It happened that way during the Clinton administration when Americans blamed the GOP freshmen for shutting down the government, be rather than thanking them.

We need a plain, unmistakable mantra: "NO MORE BORROWING FOR ANY REASON, NOT EVEN A PENNY!"

so six people say there is a deal.So what nothing has been voted on so really there is no deal.

Gop caves thats funny.there are six people that will sit on that panel 3 democrats and 3 republicans. There are no tax hikes in the deal. This acording to Obama and reid last week was why both bills passed in the house were killed in the senate.Because it must be a shared sacerfice. So who caved seems to me if it passes as it is written it was Obama and the democrats that caved.Even MSNBC is saying the republicans got 95% of what they wanted and Obama and the democrats got almost nothing they wanted in this deal.

The republicans wanted a short term deal well in a way they got it.There will be much debate next year were to cut the rest from leading up to election time.another thing the dems did not want.If they dont agree then cuts go into effect right away.

MSN was reporting that a letter signed by 74 democrats was sent to harry reid saying they will not vote for this deal.many of them crying all this deal does is cut cut cut. This deal may be killed by both partys now that there would be some bipartisanship.

What was that Obama said to cantor two weeks ago dont call my bluff on the need for tax increases.well they did and Obama folded.did the republicans get the cuts they wanted no.But they got a man who has spent more in almost three years then every man doing his job befor him did to make cuts.Though the republicans did not get the cuts to entitlements they wanted, dont think that Obama saying he is willing to make those cuts on top of not getting the tax increases he said the republicans must give up will not bite him in the rear next year

no I belive most voters will see it as a loss for everyone but they will see Obama as the one who caved even more.:D

But this is all political hocus pocus. Does it cut that spending now? If the answer is no, then it's not worth the paper it's printed on. And since it's over the next 10 years, you know the answer is no.

It really doesn't matter because 2012, Obama's new job will be CEO of Acorn. When he gets voted into that the new President will cut they're funds.;):D

Spending can be cut to the point that the debt ceiling won't have to be raised at all. So unless that happens, if the debt ceiling is raised at all, then the Republicans caved.

NO MORE BORROWING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. NOT EVEN A PENNY.

Wonder if the bipartisan panel to appointed will put this nonsensical waste of money on the table?

Egyptian-American human rights activist Nonie Darwish told Channel 2 Action News anchor Justin Farmer that trying to buy respect in the Middle East only shows our weakness.

"This part of the world has a lot of respect for power and America is not showing its power, it's showing its appeasement. They are laughing all the way to the bank," said Darwish.

Our government is amazing, isn't it? It tries to kiss a hornets' nest, then wonders why it's getting stung.
