It's part of that whole hope and change extravaganza thing we got goin' here. Walk softly but carry a big sledgehammer, but use it only when necessary, I think. Democritus once wrote, "Throw moderation to the winds, and the greatest pleasures bring the greatest pains." The people who cannot moderate their own disruptive and destructive pleasures will eventually experience the great pains that inevitably come with it. Moderation is literally a lessening of the extremes, temperance. I'm optimistic that most people, if given the opportunity, can realize that without having to be beaten by it.

Was listening to an interview with the retired CEO of Texaco, he said we refine 9 different types of regular gas for the U.S. Each brand is for a different area of the country to keep up with EPA emission guide lines. He also said if we just did one brand it would lower the price of gas by about 75c a gallon. Wouldn't that be nice.

If that is true, which I am sure it is, it should be done. These are things our politicians should be talking about.

No these are not things our politicians should be talking about. Gasoline blends are not a government function. IF States choose to demand a blend that is OK. the Feds have no standing.

Back to the basics.

All of those decisions are being based solely on politics. not hard science. There is no place for politics in the real world.

We can no longer afford politics as we have had it for the last 100 years. It has to stop.
