Who cares if she or anyone else said it. It is a system just like the ones talked about in many dystopian novels.
The fact that this is happening now matters, like the Netherlands, Sweden and even in England where decisions are being made to restrict care so people can pass on "in dignety". It is a fact, not made up by anyone here in the states.
Just look at Oregon and assisted suicides, isn't it odd that the state officials have come out and said it is cheaper to use the drugs to kill someone than to help them live longer? If this is not rationed healthcare, then what is.

The point is these alleged "death panels" oficially known as End Of Life Counseling have been around for many years. If you've ever had a loved one who is or has succumbed to a terminal illness you likely know this first hand. This controversy is one huge lie about something that is meant to bring comfort to a person going through the process of dying and their family losing a loved one. Considerations such as living wills, etc. are handled during this time. This isn't just spin, it's outright lies and it DOES matter to me who said it.

Rocket, the difference is that now it is NOT Government mandated or controlled. IF the government gets involved it WILL get out of had sometime in the future. My health care is my CHOICE and I wll NOT allow ANY politition to dictate ANY part of it. I think that makes that pretty clear. I bet ever Obama would get my drift. Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with what you just said, however what you just said has absolutely nothing to do with death panels, which is what I was talking about.
In a way it does. I worry that one day, far down the road, that that MANDATED councilling will morph into those "Death Squads". It is a valid concern when dealing with any government given the track record of governments. They all become oppressive. I will not GIVE them the inch so that they can take the mile latter. I DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

Very funny, I just have read too much history, seen too much in Eastern Europe and can see far too many very bad things going on in our OWN government. History repeats itself because too many people bury their head in the sand thinking that it will not happen again. Instead of slapping down your same tired line about paranoria maybe you should think from different angles for a change. My beliefs are as valid as anybodys and base on most likely more study than most.

Only if you have a closed mind. I was FORCED to study the "left" for lack of a better term in ways that most people in this country never have or wanted too for that matter. I have worked with far too many who escaped from Soviet Russia, Poland and East Germany and heard first hand the REAL stories of life in those times. I hear many of the same exact words out of our polititons mouths.
It is a shame that I cannot introduce you to some of those guys, you would find it very interesting. Like "George" not his real name since his life is SILL in danger even 30 years latter. I won't even tell you WHERE I USED to work with him. It took he over 2 1/2 YEARS to escape from Russia. Much of that time spent crawling in open sewers, hiding in the basements of "safe" houses and being shot at several times. Ask him about "Death Squads" I listened to him, I LEARNED and I Believed him!! I saw his scars. I base my opionion on learned facts.
I do not say that it IS going to happen I just said that I fear that it MIGHT and that alone is enough to fight it tooth and nail.

I don't need you to introduce me to the people you know who lived it. I have them in my own family. That is why I am here now. As far as the "death squads" you speak of, those aren't what the death panel is about. If you want to know about so called "death squads" who hunted escapees down that did in fact exist in this country, you could talk to just about any black person that is a descendant of a slave. It did happen here.

Not all blacks can claim that. with the influx of people from Africa in the 1870's to 1890's and again from 1950's to 70's, many have not had the chance to make this claim.
How about the in the last 10 years? How many are from eastern Africa and have nothing in common with the people who are living in the south for a couple centuries.
Sounds to me that Ann Woolner is a bitter o'fart from the far left. Her opinions are what most Libs want to hear....At least she didn't blame Bush for the health bill......
