There was a guy like that at E-1 a couple years ago. He lost his trucks, so he started driving for a cargo van owner. I saw him in dispatch 2 different times babbling about how they should be doing their job. He called his the van owner about all kinds of dumb s**t...didn't last too long.

Have to disagree with you OVM. Know a very sweet couple that had 3 trucks. They ended up losing the trucks when firstly they could not get good drivers in the two they weren't driving and secondly when the economy went in the tank. Guess it isn't that easy to find good drivers that will stay out for weeks/months at a time and take care of the truck. Don't know that from first hand knowledge but from talking to truck owners that is what I get from them. This couple now drives a truck for an owner and are excellent drivers.

Or could it be that the drivers arn't going to work and fleet owners that like the perfic looking drivers can't make money with them

I usually drive the "all night" shift and what I've noticed is that there are a lot less trucks on the road at night than this time last year. Maybe it's because they are all parked at night instead of driving now, or maybe most of them have just slowed down and aren't all passing me now. lol
