You've read that the road construction industry is buzzin with the highway stimulus package funding.

This summer there is going to be a need for drivers of dump trucks, water trucks, equipment operators...heck even a flagman makes anywhere from 10-15 bucks an hour. If your hanging on here now in expedite you might want to consider or check into your local highway contractor for available jobs for the spring to fall season....and then come back into expedite and things maybe better...park your truck if you own it and drive someone elses.

If your a real truck driver and know how to split 13-15 speed trannies and 3-5 reverse gears....not the pansy butt automatic driver...*L*

I wouldn't bet on too many of those "stimulus" jobs happening this summer or even this yr. MAYBE 2010 if then in any abundance.......And even when those jobs do come in, when the project is finished, "poof" so are the "jobs", then we right back to where we are right now.....So much for "Hope & Change"

Still Dennis...Its an option....the more the better, to have a back-up plan....people should check their local road construction companies and see what is up and happening...any work is going to be minimum 10$ per hour up to over 20 buck per hour working 10/12 hours a day with overtime....it is worth a check...then in the fall maybe the expedite market will be improved...might save losing a truck to default.

That is a good suggestion, but if I go into the highway construction industry I want to be the guy that stands there and watches the other guy dig a hole.
How much does that one pay?? HeHe

I did dump for a summer...what a blast....*LOL* spend your time in reverse and going in circles...money was good...them dumps are not anything like these condo homes some are used to....
