What is wrong with People?

I was watching the news this morning and I just have to wonder, what is wrong with people? I see a bunch of thugs in Philly trying to tip over a TV news truck. I see reports from Detroit about needing 50,000 volunteers on the streets to keep the number of arsions down on "Angels Night", not to eliminate them, just to keep them down. I know the Philly thing could have been much worst and might be tonight after the prarade but why should this happen at all? We often have riots in Detroit after Pistons or Tigers championships. (not after the Red Wings win for some odd reason) I just don't understand it. I believe we are beginning to de-evolve as speices. We are reverting to tribes again, you know, Crips, Bloods and the rest. We look like primitive man with tatoos etc. I am sure glad I live out in the country, not far enough, but every little bit helps. It's hard to have a riot with only 8 houses. I wonder what will happen on election night? Good time to not have a run to a big city. Layoutshooter

Your right when I was a kid we didn't do half this crap that happens now...But then again I didn't know what a black person was till I was 13....there were no race issues....other then immigrants from Italy in my area...in the early 50's

Race has nothing to do with it. It seems that everything is moving in the wrong direction. We used to teach hard work and sucess in school. Now we teach laziness and dependency. All through the 60's people were trying to eliminate racism and now we legislate it. What a bunch of goofys we have become. I think now it is one step forward and 3 back. Maybe there are just too many people. Must be time for a really big war or epidemic to thin the herd. If a war does it this time we should send only women to fight. Every good deer manager knows that you control the size of a herd by thinning out the does. Just gallows humor guys, don't pop your corks. Layoutshooter

Back then there were 2 parents in the household and they were both biological. If you pulled stuff like that one or both of them was likely to rip you a new one. Consequences were much more certain and severe in the courts as well.

Kids should not have rights. We also only teach "rights" in school, real or imagined, but not responsibility. We excuse crime these days. We just don't want to believe that some people are just plain rotten. Yea OVM, I often get my self into serious "poop" with this bunch or that. I used to get my butt whipped at school. Went I got home my mom would get me and then my dad would when he got home from work. What did all that child abuse get? A hard working responsible adult. A man that took care of his family. A non-criminal. A man that respects others. Yep, whoppin a child does produce bad resluts. We are trying hard to teach these qualities out of our children. We FINALLY put in the P.O. on the new cargo box today!!! YEA!!!!!!!! What a problem it was. It looks like it will be on the truck before the end of the year. All I can say is it was a real education. In case anyone was wondering, there were 135 fires in Detroit on "Angels Night", 65 of which were classed as "suspicious". It took 35,000 volunteers on the streets to keep the numbers that low. If you can call that low. They wanted to get 50,000 out but fell short. I tend not to tell people I am from the Detroit area. It is kind of embarrasing. I just don't understand it. Why burn down your own neighbor hood? Sound thinking is not the norm up there. Shoot, thinking in general is not the norm up there. What a shame to see what was once a great city reduced to this and there is no end in sight. I think we will see it spiral down even faster over the next few years. The Dakotas or Alaska sound better every day. Layoutshooter
