While at Carl's Corner Petro, Texas we learned of a new TA being built where I-35E and I 35W come back together south of Dallas. Over 400 parking spots, virtual golf AND a 16 lane bowling alley. While I am a terrible bowler it is one game where I can have fun and really care less if I win or I lose. This brand new TA is supposed to be open by the end of the year. Sounds like it will be a very nice new TA.

Raphine Virginia I-81 White Truck Stop that is now White's Petro is totally being renovated. The parking has been doubled from what it used to be and since the parking has increased to much there is a little shuttle running around to pickup drivers.

In the parking lot is a medical clinic that also offers DOT physicals. Bob and I both used their services and watched as many locals also came in for various aliments. Both of us were pleased with our physicals and the professionalism here. Sure took a lot of stress off of us to try and make an appointment at home and then get there in time. We were able to walk into the clinic without an appointment and in two hours we were both out the door ready to continue running.

While at the Petro we noticed a new building being built and questioned what this huge addition was going to become. A MOVIE THEATER! We are always on the lookout for a movie theater and have walked miles to watch a movie. This looks like it is going to be a first class theater.

Behind the truck stop is a park that has a small stream, wooden bridge and several covered picnic tables. We spent a lot of time walking around this beautiful area and enjoying the sound of the water. There were drivers out their playing ball with their dog and others enjoying the beauty of the park.

If you have not stopped here in awhile I highly recommend taking a break here and enjoying this beautiful area.
