A/C for the house went out for the third time in two months. I can fix it he said. That would be a nice surprise I said. How about, you put it in the back of your truck and go get me a brand new one. Ok he said. Cool as I can be now.

On another on going round of " stuff" got a shorty this morning while out of service. 10 mile dead head to R+L carriers to 13 mile loaded to shop. For my install of a brand new 350 GM create engine for my Z-71 pickup. Yep brand new. ImageUploadedByEO Forums1436898095.001125.jpg

Tunnel Vision:
After 3 failed attempts to fix my leaking windshield, I came to the conclusion today that it's not leaking o_O

Time to look outside the box:
If the windshield is not leaking, then where is this water coming from?

When I bought my Sprinter 3 years ago, the radio antenna was broken off with just the base plate left intact. It's my theory, that water is somehow entering from the base plate of the antenna and traveling down between the roof and the inside ceiling material and exiting at the windshield. This would be almost a direct line to where the water has been appearing. Also there are some old discolored areas on the ceiling material which I always thought were just faded from the sun. But may have been past water leaks from when the antenna was first broken off. So up on the roof and caulked the heck out of it. Hopefully, this is the real fix

I have the same problem, I also came up with the same theory as to where the water is coming from because it ruined my dome light. I'm concerned about crawling up there though.....you know from all the weight from my muscles and stuff.

Ever had condensation on your windows? The same conditions that cause condensation on the inside of your windows will cause condensation on the inside of that bare metal slope. The water will drip down onto the headliner and pool right in that recess where the dome light is, sometimes even dripping out of the dome light itself.

Good morning gang from sunny but cool Taylor Michigan. Shout out to my wife who officially has put up with me and being married to me for 20 years today!
Congratulations, mr. and mrs. Elliott. Wish you at least 20 more.

Good point but it seems to only happen directly under where the antenna is so I'm not sure. Guess I just need to seal the antenna and see what happens. It's only happened for the last month or so. I've had the truck four yrs now. It's a sprinter and if that's the problem I'm having at the moment I'll take it. Lol

True, you're not as likely to get condensation on the windows, or the metal slope, in the summer. It's probably the antenna opening. Just wanted to throw that out there for those who may have experienced their dome light peeing on them in the past, or those who have noticed water damage discoloration in the headliner. Insulating the slope show that headliner will eliminate the condensation.
