You can keep your doctor

He had the option to keep his old insurance.
I paid over $1000 per month for many years. And I wasn't making Nascar money.

I understand the idea behind the post. The above just jumped off the page at me.

True, it's possible for him if he wants to spend a whole lot more. The point is the negative aspects of Obamacare.

If you talk to anyone getting on the sight have them check themselves as smoking/non-smoking.
A 50 year old single friend was $344 per month more as a smoker.

He had the option to keep his old insurance....
The article really doesn't make that too clear.
...So if I want to continue seeing the doctor I have a 20-year relationship with my only option is to pay him cash.

That statement would imply his doctor no longer accepts his old policy.

Too bad the article doesn't offer a better description of the type of insurance Shepherd used to have. Was it group insurance, or an independent policy? Regardless, he'd better drive more carefully while on the job, and hope his workman's comp is paid up.

This same thing happened to my daughter, whose company cancelled the policy she had last year because it didn't meet the ObamaCare requirements. The new company policy does let her keep her doctor, but the premium more than doubled and her deductible is $6000. The end result is considerably less take home pay and what amounts to only having a catastrophic health care policy. It's highly likely her company will dump its group insurance so everyone will have no choice other than ObamaCare - which probably will amount to nothing.

It was clear he could keep his old policy at $1000 per month and $11,000 deductible.
His new cheaper insurance, will not let him keep his Dr. His choice.
I paid as much as $1400 per month for years. It hurt. I no longer have multiple cars, antique cars, or motorcycles.
You sometimes have to make choices in life.....

Those wave of cancellations should hit right about before the 14 elections. They will be a large number because these will be the employer paid ones which haven't really started yet.
