Last winter and spring I posted and recieved many following posts regarding the poor fuel economy my truck was getting.
Well its back the poor mileage again. But I do not seem to be alone, I have been in contact with several new drivers some from here and others who have purcahsed trucks in the last year. The one comment I have heard and it all started exactly a month ago is when there fuel mpg dropped.
Some have done what I did take it in and have it looked at top to bottom only to find nothing wrong. According to a great source I meet least year and also a Farmer from ILL. has stated that his equipment in the winter uses 25% or more fuel in the winter than in the summer months and he claims it is related directly to the winter blend even in the # 2 that they make it so it will withstand colder temp.
My other truck that had been averaging just under 10 like 9.9 to 9.5 is now only getting in the high sevens. Nothing different in driving just more wind, colder temp and of course winter fuel. I have narrowed this to the fuel because even when I run in 40-50-60F it is still 20% below in MPG than in the summer months this is also taking into consideration that in those temps the wind is calm.
Have any expierence on upping the mileage other than tire pressure lets here it. Also an article in this months Expedite NOW.
