The American middle class/working class is in dire need of real leadership on economic and political grievances. One man in Poland, Lech Walesa, an electrician and leader of the Solidarity movement, stood down the Polish oligarchy and the entire Soviet system unraveled. He was a phenomenal profile in courage. Here in America we are too timid to confront exploitation of the working class. The trucking industry really needs a new champion to rally around... someone in the mode of Jimmy Hoffa(w/o the corruption). The pendulum has swung too far in the favor of corporate interests with big money for lobbyists. I propose a new trade association for truckers, including expediters, would be of great value in improving the lot of us all. There is power in numbers. There is power in speaking with one voice to address grievances. It plays right into the hands of trucking companies to keep us apart, un-informed, confused and powerless. How I wish someone would pickup this idea and run with it.
