Beware of Mrs. Liddy.

G. Gordon Liddy, of Watergate fame and as convicted felon, was unable to legally purchase a firearm. No worries, he said. Mrs. Liddy had a formidable collection of guns and he had trained her to become a crack shot.

I agree. In today's world you need to be proactive and smart in learning how best to defend yourself in a multitude of situations. Especially a targeted female. When someone is breaking in to your home, car and threatening you or your loved one's life, 911 isn't going to save you. You'll be dead by the time responders arrive. Go through all the proper, legal steps, education, training, permits, then Carry and use.

Where I live , unless you are in downtown , you are not going to get help in 10 minutes. There are to many hollows, dirt roads, twist and turns, heck the fire departments are volunteers and the steep roads through the hills,,nope, aint gonna happen, your better off having the school bus driver find you,,now thats sad...but true. the busdrivers are the ones that know where you are, imho. On second thought,, the sheriff dudes are somewhat good at finding you in the boonies, they hunt and fish and grew up in this mess,,will give them credit, but they are not gonna find you in time...

The most important thing to remember when deciding whether to be trained, armed and prepared is When lives are in danger and every second counts, 911 is only minutes away.

I was lucky to be trained by a US Marshall on the Fugitive task force. Not only was he a great instructor, he told some great stories. He actually had us running defenses against shooter entering the office exercises. (everyone in our office took training together at work) Amazing how much adrenaline is produced, when you hear "bang" and you know your receptionist has just been shot. (simulated) He also spent a bunch of time when shooting is going to be questionable or illegal.
