Want to buy a Canon?

I was sitting in my truck getting ready to leave and a guy pulls up in front of my bumper. He walks over and asks if I want to buy a Canon digital camera. Says there were 40 left after a delivery to Best Buy. Says he told the company there were 40 too many and dispatch said no, the computer is never wrong. Says he's keeping 20 and selling 20 and hands me one. It's not a Canon it's a Canomatic with made in China stickers all over it. I hand it back to him with a no thanks and then get some aloe for the burn in my fingers. I don't really know if they were hot or not but they were $4.99 Chinese junk he claimed were "on sale" for $280 at Best Buy and he'd let me have one for $40. Haven't seen that one before but am sure I'll see all sorts more over time.

Hey Leo, you weren't in Montgomery AL at the TA by chance were ya? Lot lizards all night long and then 2-3 guys selling these cameras working the lot. No wonder the po-leece kept showing up.

Surprisingly, at least to me, this was in Franklin, KY at the J. I would expect that in Memphis although I wouldn't stay there any longer than it took to put fuel in the truck and only then if there wasn't enough to make it to the next J.

Leo, I have heard that a number of times. I think it has always been up around 280 in Tri State country. Flying J there.

You are right about Memphis. The Pilot there was unreal. I could right a short book on my six hours there about a year ago. Wow! That place could use some serious patrol.

On another note. I have to say it again. I love that wheel in the above picture. I am now on a mission. That has become a most have in my little mind.

A Canomatic is the best camera you can buy in a truckstop parking lot. You just past up a good deal LDB. I bought a Panosonik Digimon Camera(not to be confused with Panasonic Digital Camera) from a guy in a truckstop once and it turned out to be a peice of crap. Thats the last time I buy something made in Cambodia.

Sounds like the guy selling a gun. He told everyone on the CB, he'd be over behind the building. Several drivers kept asking "how much?", and he kept adding to the story. He finally said $20.00, and he got someone to bit. He told the interested driver, that he would be behind the building, with the black trench coat and mask, and to make sure he brought cash. Oh, he also let the driver know that he had bullets with him. This went on for 20min or so, and finally he went away. Pretty funny, but you wonder if it could have been the real thing.
