uship question

Hello,
We are new to the cargo van business and we were looking on the uship website for available cargo. We signed up with them and we read their user agreement, which has 40 items on the agreement form. We were wondering if we should have a contract of our own for shippers/brokers/uship to sign for us before hauling a load with someone who has posted on uships website. We want to make sure that we are covered as well. If anyone has any information they could share, we would appreciate it.

thanks
Jason

I'm not a user ( or fan ) of uship but I am wondering if the " customer" has to check mark an agreement that would cover you ?

It was a pre-"numb"tual agreement. You asked her to sign it and she turned numb and pointed to the couch! I hope she at least gave you a blanket. lol

Ok.. Here we go.. There is NOTHING that binds the customer to pay you when you deliver. (unless you require payment up front) I have not heard of anyone being stiffed, but I am sure the price is adjusted down for anything/everything if they think they can get away with it. Collect payment before the freight leaves your van (trailer what ever)..

No pay, leave with the freight.

Second. Do you have the proper operating authority? It's different for <10,000K than it is for >10,000K.. Do you have the proper insurance? Do you have a health card?

Are you going to be towing a trailer. Is the combined GVW of your van and trailer above 10,000? If so, do you know how to log? Do you have the needed operating authority and markings on your van?

and most importantly, throw everything you learned form the TV show out the window. It is NOTHING like that.

I'm gonna get my future wife so hungry from dieting that i'll just dangle a cheeseburger in front of her and ask her to sign on the dotted line to get it. I think that will be a much easier way to get my future significant other to sign onto some sort of agreement! lol.

don't waste your time with uship!they are a rip off and once you book 12 loads you are block from cash on delivery!you would have to collect your payment threw uship and the customer has to give you a code to collect your payment!only was out of this is if your one of those matt butt kissers then it wouldn't be a issue.uship is a big fat joke!
