[FONT=&quot]FMCSA regulations require drivers of commercial motor vehicles to comply with the laws, ordinances and regulations of the jurisdiction in which it is being operated. Unsafe, careless driving will subject the driver to local fines and penalties in addition to the application of severity weight points as follows: Five points for: (1) failure to obey traffic control device, (2) following too close, (3) improper lane change, (4) improper passing, (5) speeding, (6) improper turns, (7) failure to yield right of way, (8) failure to stop at railroad crossing with placarded material, or (9) failure to use caution during hazardous situation.[/FONT]
