we get very poor reception on our tv, does anyone have satellite tv? how much is it, what is needed to use it. OR do those rabbit ears on the mirror work? we had bought the one that looks like a jet plane from pilot but it didn't help so we took it back.

You would have thought there would have been a slight improvement. However, most truck TV reception is weak. A satelite would be your best bet. Many places including Camper World sell and install systems. A seperate dish to a full blown automated system are available. It just depends really on what your budget is.
If not buying a automated one, I would recommend at least finding a signal finder. Signal packages are $29.00 and up per month depending on what you want.

By the sound of your post, the "airplane" antenna works about as well as my rabbit ears on the mirror bracket. Thanx for saving me from buying an "airplane"!!!!

It looks like satellite is the way to go.

You should go with a satellite system. If you have say, Dish Network at home you can add on a receiver and put it in the truck for an extra 5 bucks a months. Regular monthly price is around $34.00 for the basic 60 channels.

You can buy 3 types of satellite dishes for a vehicle.
1.) A crank-up dish with a system on it to help you locate the satellite.
2.) A semi-automatic system that will automatically locate and lock on to the satellite when you are parked.
3.) A fully-automatic system that will automatically lock on to the satellite while you are driving or parked.

Approx. Antenna Prices
1.) $200
2.) $1000
3.) $1500 to 2000

There is a 4th option. You could use the same kind of dish that you mount on the house and buy a tripod for it and use it as a portable dish. I did this for many years while RVing. If you do this you will need a satellite finder/meter and it is a pain to set up and put away.

Find any Camping World and take a good look at your options.

If you decided to buy at Camping World buy their membership discount first, it will more than pay for itself on most first purchases.

Camping World will also install it!!
