The best help you can get is from yourself actually. Go back and read the last year of the general, newbies and recruiter forums. Not every post and not even every thread, just those that catch your eye and involve questions you have about the industry and particular companies. You will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge about this business. Good luck in your research.

Yes AVOID THEM! I am with BOLT now. Not saying they are perfect, but much better and way more proffessional. They actually offer you empty moves if they cant get you back. 2 weeks ago they offered me an empty move back to cleveland from Albany NY after 2 days. Thats alot better than Try Hours leaving me in VA for 5 days and not even giving me a clue where to go\ let alone pay me to move. I'm also still w3aiting on my escro minus all these fees that are suddenly being scribled in on my statements in pen. hmmmm last paycheck of $274.00 was completely nulified by fees after I quit and that doesn't even include the un-install of QC....Amazing how it worked out. Also I sat home in Southern IN (usually a good spot) for 2 WEEKS in service. Thats when the next run became my last. Got one to OH and went straight to office after to say C YA!!!!

Also if anyone out there has or wants a class action against them...let me know. It's not worth the court /attny fees going it alone. They probably know that so they don't bother paying up.

I cant imagine they screwed you out of more than 5k, so sue them in small claims, only takes time. Find out who thier agent of service is in your state and serve them there. They wont show up you'll get a defualt judgemnet. After you get that send a copy of it to Dunn&Bradstreet. You might even be able to colect against there bond if there thier state requires it. But at the very least you'll be able to show they are dead beats on thier credit.

Have fun

I was leased to Try Hours a Couple of years back and they were "Kinda" Shady back then. They would tell me that My Settlement would be posted in my bank on Monday Mornings and they did just that for about 7-8 months. Then they started "Holding" my Settlement without any explanation No matter how many times I called it was always the same LIE, I went to the Main Office Numerous times in Maumee Ohio and asked to see the owner to try and get this straightened out, but was always told by the Dispatchers that he wasn't in even though his car was out front in the parking lot. I finally caught up with the owner in the garage area as I was having some work done and after WE talked WE had an Understanding and I was starting to get my settlements on a weekly regular Basis. The owner did not like being cornered like a RAT But that's Too Bad cuz Ya gotta do what Ya gotta do to stay in business.... I WOULD NOT Reccomend anyone Leasing on with them at all because of my experience with them....

We've been with them for a year in a B unit and recently left them. They did a lot of automotie, and of course that's dead now. They do mostly short runs, OH, MI, some IN. Rarely longer runs and always deadhead back to OH.
We had no problems with the pay, a check received every Monday.
Not horrible but not the best.

Edit: I just realised this is a one year load thread. I guess it's a good thing people go that far back and read.
