I would think it is 45 mph x 11 hours. Most companies figure you will average 45 mph to allow plenty of time in making the p/u and del times.

I just asked for clarifcation. If you are going to get mad about that then you might want to think twice about asking questions. Different companies are different. What a Tri State solo does and a Try Hours solo does can be two different things. I mean you did title your thread Try Hours Straight Truck. That's why I asked. Plus it's hard to say. What is an average week. Most expediters run their numbers in months, quaters, or even for the whole year. What you average in March can be totally different from what you average in June. When I was in a straight truck I did as little as 1,000 miles and as much as 2,500. There are alot of factors to figure in as well. How many of those miles are paid miles, how many are deadhead and empty move? I can tell you one thing though. As a solo you will have more weeks close to 1,000 than you do to 2,500. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. I mean in total I don't think saying 1,600 miles would be a bad base figure. Then again there are others that know better than I do. Sorry for asking you that question in my first reply.

My memory isn't that sharp, and it's been a little while. So to be honest with it would be best to ask someone else.I've never been out there for the bad times. Like right now everyone is saying it's pretty slow. Plus I never owned I only drove. If I were you I would ask someone like Tennessehawk or RichM about that. They are both sucessful solo expediters. There are more here, but those are the ones I could think of right of the top of my head. They won't lead you wrong. Sorry I couldn't help out more. I just don't want to give any bad information.

Mike... I think 75k miles per year is about right for a solo straight. A little more, or a little less, depending on what company you go with. Figure a gross of approx 100k. After fuel, truck payment, repairs, living, etc., you can expect somewhere between $30 and $40k take home.
