I have a Freightliner FL70 with an extended cab small sleeper. I get alot of roof noise from the air bouncing back from the box. Does anyone have any experience with a wing attached to the roof to deflect the air or a nose cone. Will I gain much MPG with these options? Thanks alot guys. Dale

I would say the answer would be what is your budget? The Turbo Wing looks way cool and will help your fuel mileage by 1 mpg or so. Nose cones have been around for 25 years and work really well and are quite a bit less expensive and easier to install. A little silicone and a box of stainless rivets will get you up and running. Fuel mileage gain will be in the 1/2 to 3/4 mpg range depending on speed of course.. Best of luck and please let us know how it works out for you..

RE: For Glen Rice

if you are really on a budget, nose cones and some of the flairings can be had at salvage yards for a good price. I seen a turbo wing down here in FL for 150.00 on a wrecked pete.

Just wanted to let you all know that I got a wing from Taylor Wings. It seems to be working fine. I also purchased the hood mounted bug wing. I work trade shows and it is now my off season so it is hard to tell but I did make one run with 7,000 less than I carry and got 2.5 MPG increase. I know that this will decrease once I start back up in the fall with the aditional 7,000 lbs. I also have no cab noise and do not feel the drag that i used to. Taylor did send me the wrong brackets to mount the wing which mounts to the box. I did not know this until after mounting them and the wing was sitting way to high up. I could correct this by shorting them but it did not make me happy to have to redo everthing and remount it. I will let you all know how it does. Thanks for all your help.

Just wanted to let you all know that I am now getting about 1.5 mpg increase since i installed the wing. I started back at my show season and am now running about 31,000 lbs. I have gotten rid of all the noise that I was receiving when the wind came pounding on the cab from the box. So far I am very happy with the investement.
Thanks so much to all of you!!!
