Not fun to really come across cows in the road. Happened to me about 4 or 5 years ago. Coming home from the salon one dark rainy night on a back road in Kansas. Going about 70 mph in my little Geo Metro. Cows was black, no moon, happily eating the cheeseburger I had picked up at Sonic on the way through Colby Kansas. Next thing I remember was waking up in the ditch with some long bloody thing laying in my lap. Turned out to be the cows tail that got left behind when it came through the wind sheild and hit me in the face. The cow then bounce back out taking part of the car roof with it. laid up for 9 days. Needless to say totalled the car out (Oh how I loved that little Geo, still miss it. Could go forever on a tank of gas>). Farmer rented the land, had no insurance and a bunch of little kids to support. Only had liability on the little car since I had only paid a couple thousand for it to use as a commute car. PIP paid my med but was out the money for work, the cost of the car and some dental work that didn't get done in the specified time. No way I could go after the poor farmer for it. Just didn't have the heart to do that.

While running on WY 191 at 65mph TODAY, I came over a hill on to a herd of what had to be 40 deer crossing the road... If not for anti-lock brakes, the new tires i had put on in dallas on sunday would have really bad flat spots.....the nice words that came out of my mouth were "holy crap"....
