Here is a news story that the media seems to be trying to bury. I didnt see it on CNN.com or the front section of Yahoo news anyway. lol Democrat congressman from Florida busted in a sex scandal. He was having an affair with a former aide.

Here is the worst part. She taped a phone call she had with Congressman Mahoney and it didnt sound good for the Congressman. She claims that she was fired for breaking off the affair. The taped phone conversation tended to support the claim. It is also claimed that he later tried to pay her off.

The funny part is he was just elected when Republican Mark Foley was busted for sending inappropriate emails to a minor. (Congressman Mahoney took his seat) Congressman Mahoney's campaign was atleast partly based on "his good ethics"

Republicans are naturally trying to find out what Demorcatic leadership knew of the situation and when they knew it. (Mahoney's scandal)

It was ABC News that broke that story. I don't think there's gonna be a big push from the Dems to help him on this one. They're gonna gain a bunch of seats in Congress, so he's expendable. He'll get tossed to the Republican wolves, if he hasn't been already. Just a few weeks between now and election day, so his 15 minutes are gonna be up and he'll barely be a blip when its all over and done with. I'll be shocked if he doesn't drop out of the race, even though he was leading by a wide margin yesterday.

I see another possible gain for the Republicans in the house. Here in Indiana there is a race going on where the Republican is doing well against his incumbant Democratic rival.

Plus, I am also interested to see how well the Dems really do in the congressional races. The Dems in congress do have a worse approval rating than President Bush...

Don't buy that. Congress as a whole always has a lower approval rating than the pres. The problem with Congress is there are 535 members, and the ones with the low ratings are usually "everyone but mine". Democrats are the "anti-Bush"; so it's likely Repubs won't make any ground.
