What’s the life span on tie rod ends? Inspectors are talking about a jerky movement when I rock the wheel during inspection…time for replacement?

I would if you have no maintenance record of them being changed.
You really do not want a tie rod end to break while either out on the highway or going down a mountain road.

I use to replace the brakes and tires every year on my cargo van just because of wear and tear.
I did 100,000 miles a year avg so it was a must to replace them.

Take a look at the rear spring bushings on the front axle. Those get bashed and could possibly cause some movement.

Usually it’s the draglinks that go. I replace 25 or so a year compared to the handful of tie rods end I change.
