Just to throw this in.

Extend the oil change to 10k, have the oil sampled at 5k for diesels.

Don't get a K&N for any reason, it lets too much silicon in the oil.

you might be overlooking the fact that your failure on the road to make a liveable income might not be your carriers fault but YOURS!

do you turn down more than 3-5% of load offers?
do you avoid going to New York City, the east coast, most major cities?
do you only drive during daylight hours? (hey, I know a few)
do you refuse to get your hazmat because of the startup cost, failing to look at the potential income down the road?
do you have a low on-time service record?
do you have a low in-service rate?

so, if you can answer no to those questions then maybe you should consider a change of carriers, or better yet, address these issues with them directly. if your still not satisfied with their response and you truely can answer no to those questions - then maybe a new carrier is part of the answer.

solving your issues can not be solved by simply ignoring them or getting on EO and doing nothing more than complaining about them.

IN 2010 - be proactive - be productive!

I changed mine at 8,000 miles and it looked like crap.I'll stick to the usual 5,000 mi oil change interval.Everything else will get flushed and changed to synthetic this spring.I've been using Caterpillar pre-diluted extended life coolant for 10 years now and love it,everything I drive has it in here.

I found a website called Powerstrokehelp.com and am amazed at what I have learned so far.Still not convinced on the K&N air filter thing yet, but have held off putting one in until I learn more, and get a reply back from Powerstroke Help.com about this.
