The Trump Card...

Chris Christie is about to enter the race for the Republican nomination for President.
We have a candidate (Trump) that takes all the oxygen in the room and now have another ( Christie) who takes all the food in the room.

Now he is just making things up, this cant be done by executive order, it would have to come from congress.
This campaign promise is nothing new from Trump. He brought it up several times during his prior term in office and had ample opportunity to do something about it then, but chose not to. The DeSantis campaign has already responded on Twitter asking why he didn't do it when he had the chance.

It seems pointless for all these candidates to be entering the Republican primary, knowing from the start that they have no chance whatsoever of winning a single primary state. Maybe they're just playing the campaign donation lottery in hopes of securing a Senate or House seat in the future, or maybe they're campaigning for VP. Hopefully the first Republican debate will weed out the publicity seekers so the voters can concentrate on the only two serious choices - Trump and DeSantis.

Interesting News From an Interesting Source

While Trump denied it, a well-placed source says it's true.

"A few hours after Mr. Budowich left the grand jury, which is sitting in Federal District Court in Miami, John Solomon, a conservative writer who serves as one of Mr. Trump’s representatives to the National Archives, published an article claiming that federal prosecutors had notified the former president that he was a target of their investigation and was likely to be indicted “imminently” in the documents case." The problem is now the doj will have to go after Biden for his crimes of taking classified documents as vice president and storing them in locations that were unsecured.....classified documents that Biden had no security clearance to even be able to have in his possession.....biden then let his lawyers look through the classified documents before the fbi could take possession.

The Claws are Coming Out
The only way for DeSantis to knock Trump off his perch will be to treat Trump like Trump has treated DeSantis. I may be wrong about DeSantis. He may continue to bend over and take it from Trump. We'll find out after he officially declares. My guess is the claws come out after DeSantis declares, and Trump will double down when he learns his crib-kill attempts failed.
It's turning out as I expected. After he declared his run for president, DeSantis's claws came out. He now openly attacks Trump in ways he did not before.

Now Pence is doing the same.

"Former US vice-president Mike Pence has offered his most forceful repudiation of Donald Trump to date during a speech launching his 2024 campaign.

"The Republican accused Mr Trump of being unfaithful to the US constitution and of abandoning conservative values. ...

"At a speech in Ankeny, Iowa, Mr Pence argued that Mr Trump had encouraged the mob that attacked the US Capitol on 6 January 2021, and had incorrectly asserted that Mr Pence had the power to overturn the election result. ,,,

"He added that Mr Trump's actions on 6 January should disqualify him from returning to power.

"'I believe that anyone who puts themselves over the constitution should never be president of the United States,' he said."
(Source)

Christie has long been critical of Trump but he's ramping it up as well, and he's getting more coverage now that he too has declared.

"... calling [Trump] a “lonely, self-consumed, self-serving mirror hog.” (Source)

" ... denouncing the four years of his rival’s presidency as an utter failure and little more than an opportunity for 'breathtaking' levels of corruption and 'grift' carried out by the Trump family." (Source)

Will this embolden other Trump opponents seeking the Republican nomination? Are we moving toward a tipping point where the majority of Republicans come to believe Trump's blood is in the water and join in the feeding frenzy? Or will Trump's iron grip on the Republican Party base remain mostly intact?

I'm thinking a tipping point may come. We're not there yet but things seem to moving in that direction. Fear of Trump's base kept Trump's early primary opponents genteel toward Trump before. That has obviously changed.

At least three of Trump's primary opponents no longer fear retribution from Trump's base. That changes the ball game.

Another game-changer is the indictments that seem soon to come.

Trump got a big boost when the Manhattan DA indicted Trump for the first time ever. It is highly unlikely that the expected second, third, and fourth indictments will provide a similar boost of additional people. Those who were inclined to jump on the Trump bandwagon in response to the first indictment will respond the same to the others, but they are already on the bandwagon. Additional indictments will not provide additional bandwagoners.

They don’t care. They play by different rules for them. As long as they have the levers in the DOJ, FBI, DC judiciaries, (District and Appellate) and juries, they can put together any half baked cockamamie legal argument against Trump and will be successful. That’s how corrupt the current process is.

What we're witnessing is the political persecution of a former POTUS who happens to be the leading opposition candidate to the current POTUS running for re-election. Federal law enforcement agencies have been politicized to administrate this process designed to coincide with the Republican primary and the months running up to the election in Nov of 2024. Now combine this with the Russia collusion hoax, the J6 biased propaganda production along with the NY and DC investigations, and we have an unprecedented level of ongoing political corruption by the Democrat party and their unelected accomplices in government bureaucracy. Simply put, this is banana republic stuff that should never be seen under our system of democracy.

Prediction: Trump will be indicted and subjected to an extended show trial that will likely result in a conviction, considering the venue in which it will take place. The appeals process could take years. The Democrats will stop at nothing to take Trump out of the race in 2024. They'll still lose the White House in 2024 and probably the Senate as well. The political pendulum will swing away from the Democrats and what they're doing to our government, our legal system and our culture.

Why didn’t NARA provide a warehouse for the documents close by in the state that Trump resides in(Florida) like they did the previous Presidents ?

Christie and Pence are clueless. Not a chance to get the nomination.
The list of GOP candidates so far, and hopefully no more names will be added:

Trump
DeSantis
Pence
Christie
Burgam
Hailey
Hutchinson
Scott
Ramaswamy
Larry Elder
Perry Johnson (MI businessman who failed in a try for MI governor a few years ago)

Let's face it - right now it's Trump and nobody else, but DeSantis at least has a record and a following to build on. The rest of these publicity hounds will fall off the list in short order, with the exception of Hailey and Scott, who are probably running for VP. Hopefully the RNC will raise the bar high enough to only allow the serious contenders on the debate stage. It would be interesting to see Vivek Ramaswamy in the debate to bring his unique perspectives into the discussion. This guy could one day be a real player in politics - he's only 37 yrs old and has an impressive resume.
