Trump's Attack Behavior is Catching Up to Him

The judge makes a ruling in the hush money case.

Article excerpts:

Prosecutors had argued they needed “safeguards that will protect the integrity of the materials,” saying the “risk” that Trump would use them “inappropriately is substantial.

“Donald J. Trump has a longstanding and perhaps singular history of attacking witnesses, investigators, prosecutors, trial jurors, grand jurors, judges, and others involved in legal proceedings against him, putting those individuals and their families at considerable safety risk,” the DA's office argued in a court filing last month.

Prosecutors had stressed they were not seeking a gag order against Trump, a 2024 presidential candidate — they just wanted to make sure he did not misuse their evidence.

When Trump Has Friends Like This, Who Needs Enemies?

GA Republican Party Chairman David Shafer, is one of the fake electors being investigated by the Fulton County DA. In his defense, he issued a letter in which he directly implicates Trump's attorneys in the scheme (and by extension Trump himself). He also uses the same ineffective "I was just following orders" defense Nazi war criminals ineffectively used.
-------------------
"Lawyers representing David Shafer, the embattled chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, are arguing their client should not be charged with any crimes for his actions following the 2020 election because he was following advice provided by attorneys working for former President Donald Trump, according to a letter sent to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis last week.

"Specifically, Shafer’s attorneys say their client was relying on 'repeated and detailed advice of legal counsel' when he organized a group of 'contingent' electors from Georgia and served as one himself, thus 'eliminating any possibility of criminal intent or liability,' according to a copy of the May 5 letter."

Great! Prosecutors can leak and disparage Trump to the NYTimes about the case( without ANY repercussions) but he can’t exercise his First Amendment Right during the campaign season. Election Interference much?

Trump has the money....
And soon, he will have $5 million less of it.
but he is going to appeal and drag it out.
If the past is any indication, he will lose his appeal. And about the dragging it out part, that's not working like it did before. The courts are on to him and judges are increasingly preventing Trump from using the courts for his own selfish purposes.

Just today, there is news of a hearing date being set on the question of moving the Manhattan hush money case (falsifying business records) to federal court. That judge specifically said the state case could continue as this action is pending. Trump secured no delay there.

Trump may have a legitimate case for appeal. An interview Carroll did with Anderson Cooper is making the rounds online, and she doesn't do herself any favors.

"Carroll described the alleged event between Trump and her as a "fight" rather than "rape...
She said: "I think most people think of rape as being sexy. They think of the fantasies."

Trump is likely to appeal whether he has legitimate reasons or not. The quote you cite above is a reach as grounds for appeal. What gets appealed is the court case, not post-trial interviews. And the quote is such that anyone can read anything they want into those words, depending on the theory they want to promote.

I might be wrong, Maybe Trump's crack legal team, that is racking up loss after loss, will seize on those words and base an appeal on them. We'll see.

The problem is we have to many people that think they can read minds.....many of them Democrats.

The partisan Clinton judge in the case officiated the marriage of the co counsel for Carroll.
Conflict of interest much?
