Yippee.. we (family) have been waiting 14 years for this...tomorrow in michigan is our 2 day youth hunt...my daughter who is 14 and my son who is 13 are just estatic....we have spent many hours at the range practicing with there varmint rifles that i bought them last year...they are both capable of shooting one inch groups at 100 yards.....last night we took 2 potential deer guns for them to sight in and practice with...my daughter will shoot the cva break-open muzzleloader with a nikon bdc scope....after sighting the gun in she was shooting 2 inch shot groups at 100 yards... my son who is smaller in size opted for the h&r 20 gauge single shot with a rifled bull barrel which also dons a nikon bdc scope...he was shooting under a 2 inch group at a 100 yards also...i am sure they both have thoughts of shooting a monster buck..just like we all did when we were 14 years old. thats a dream that doesnt dissapear with age...i am sure i am more excited about this hunt then they are.. Will i sleep tonight ?? probably not!! will they ??? ya eventually kids drift off about two in the morning and get up at 5 am.. my nephew who is 14 and his dad (brother )are going with us also...its a 2 mile walk where we set up our portable blinds.... makes for a long drag , but over the years we have done it many times...and hopefully tomorrow we have to drag a deer out once again..... i will post tomorrow or sunday on the experience in the field!!!
