Wolverine, it costs money to make money.
You're in the big leagues now.
You'll get no argument from me on that philosophy, zorry. I've followed it since my first true venture into the free-enterprise universe, in 1980, aside from a couple commission-only sales jobs that required nurturing a territories.
I quickly learned labor-saving machinery was vital to efficiency in a construction business; and helped to retain key employees. I plowed margins back into the business, often to the dismay of babies who may not have always bought the latest designer clothes, or whose mother may not have been able to buy a new car every year; BUT the business was a success.
It's no different here. Putting junk on the road will only result in junk returns. My
first truck purchased (which I know you are familiar with) was nothing more than adopting the problems of an inherently poor design. Never again.
The same mindset should apply to maintenance. As the man said many years ago: "Pay me now, or pay me later."
Here's hoping our paths cross one of these days. I plan on being back out on the road again, soon after the '06 gets some major work completed. Now it's grandchildren that will want the designer clothes!
