Sometimes you have to wonder

The story states that 95 out of 506 renewal applicants for hazmat had their CDLs canceled. It didn't exactly say why these 95 had their CDLs canceled. I agree with Ateam the hazmat is an endorsement. Failure to qualify should result in no hazmat endorsement, not revoking of the CDL. Something in this story is missing. Maybe a background check showed that these drivers were unqualified for a CDL. And remember the story also mentioned the state of Illinois. That might have some bearing on why these drivers lost their CDLs. My dead grandmother got her CDL in Illinois and voted for Mr. Daily 3 times all in the same day. Never left her crypt.

I've gotta agree with Moot, there's something missing in this story. Wasn't there a BMV employee in the Chicago area busted for "selling" CDLs a while back?

If I was one of the affected drivers, and I had a legit CDL, I'd be getting in touch with a lawyer, PRONTO!!

I read the story again. Sometimes truck articles are written to show that everyone and his brother are out to get the poor truck driver. Consider the source of this article.
