Like driving and trucks. In rolled in trk. school, for semi. thought I would be more higherable. Had in mind to be staright truck driver. After 8 hrs going round block double clutching up and down ,my left knee couldn't take that I dropped out , also dropped some money. Instructor said in Mi. for cdl you must double clutch.
Going for neck surgery this week, if I have enough motion after this I'd like again some way. Your in put would be greatly appreciated. NO BILLS Wife likes to ride. Thanks Tom Tinker:)

Good health can't be replaced. I would complete your surgery and see where you are at upon completion of that. Trucking can be physically demanding and any health issues would be tough to deal with out on the road.
Again, address your health concerns first.

Tom Tinker Retired Good idea, but she is such a city gal she doesn't even like driving our Silhouette van. I thought I could drive anything after driving the old cab over Hino, KW had.

Does kw express stand for Kenworth?:)

Hi the old professor. Yes I have considered the cargo van. Most places I checked with, said most likly get more business with straight truck. I know cost all around are higher for straight. If my wife went along I'd probably have to motel.
Neck operation went good have a steel plate on C6 vitabe in neck
this collar thing is uncomfortable. WELCOME ALL ADVISE

Tom,
Don't rush your recovery time, follow doctor's orders, and make sure you heal completely. Dealing with health issues on the road is difficult - and also creates down-time where your truck won't generate any revenue but still eats about the same (quallcom, truck payment, and insurance).

During your recovery time be sure to scan all the posts on this site and also check out the archives. There is a ton of information available here to help you make an informed decision.

Best Regards - Scott

Thanks for the advise Scott, I will take it easy, and heal the best I can. I will be reading and following what appears to be some nice folks on this site. I would give some ratings, but I haven't learned how to do that yet. When I work for Michigan Kenworth I met a lot of o.o. that were real negitive about trucking. Is this normal or bad mood for truck being broke down? Thanks sincerely
