School Makes Boy Remove US Flag From His Bike

This is what happens when the leaders of your country no longer have respect for the flag, our traditions, the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, our founding principal and our military....let alone our personal freedoms..and give voice to one groups over another...

School Makes Boy Take American Flag Off Bike - KTXL

DENAIR - 13-year-old Cody Alicea rides with an American flag on the back of his bike. He says he does this to be patriotic and to honor veterans, like his own grandfather, Robert. He's had the flag on his bike for two months but Monday, was told to take it down.

A school official at Denair Middle School told Cody some students had been complaining about the flag and it was no longer allowed on school property.

"In this country we're supposed to be free," said Cody. "And I should be able to wave my flag wherever I want to. And they're telling me I can't." Cody had to take the flag off his bike and put it in his backpack, where he kept it all week.

Cody's grandfather says the school was concerned about racial tensions or uprisings because of the flag. He feels if there was really a problem it should have been brought up two months ago, not during Veterans week. And if it was an issue of safety, parents should have been contacted.

"No action should be taken. We don't want any repercussion," said Roger Alicea. "We just want Cody to be proud of what he's doing." Roger says the family is not planning to take any legal action, but they do want to meet with school staff.

Cody says he wants to serve in the military some day, and is raising money for a trip to Washington, D.C. in the Spring.

This has been going on for years and no one seems to get that.

The issue isn't the flag but public school and a need to have political correctness be part of the school.

We have a bigger problem in this country with public schools and colleges, we give them the rights to reason at an early age but then when they make decisions, we restrict them.

Again for those who are for the Constitution, this is a case where there is no age limit, freedoms are freedoms and we must fight this insanity by eliminating the source of most of the problems, public schools.

They caught so much flak nationwide, they backed off...and really it was alll about "his safety"

seems there were threats to the kid from other kids...so instead of dealing with the kids making the threats, they make him take the US flag down...well they backed off and NOW they will deal with those making the threats.....what happened to all of this "bullying" crap that libs are talking about!?!? Guess this doesn't all under the Anti -Bullying" crowds rules..well it does deal with the flag and being patriotic....something most left leaning libs don't care for.....
