Im watching the opening scene of this movie,,how in the world did those guys ever take that beach>>

Considering the mindset of today's young people combined with our lack of heavy manufacturing capacity, one can't help but wonder if we could prevail if faced with a major military conflict.

With the idea that they were right and God backed the mission.

As Pilgrim said I do not think this could take place today.

The war itself would be an issue for much of the country, with the Media attacking the government and the people being somewhat numb to the realities of the world and not willing to give anything up to win if we can bring ourselves to a war like those we fought.

I don't think the manufacturing issue would ever even come into play, we would still be at the crossroads whether to fight or not with a lack of leadership.
