Questions about Panther

I'm interested in joining Panther, if anyone can answer these questions, I sure would appreciate it.

1. Is the rate really $1.45 per mile or is there a catch? Does the rate decrease with more miles? Is the fuel surcharge in addition or included to this rate?

2. As a solo driver, how many miles might I average per week?

3. I live in Houston, TX, anyone think I might get much home time?

4. How much empty miles would I expect?

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer.

1. Yes, the rate is 1.45 + 100% fsc.

2. Solo---well we are running our tractor solo atm, and miles range from 1500-2500. Right place right time....team you can make bank at Panther in a tractor.

3. Houston, TX-- what do you consider a lot of home time? You can go home whenever you want...as long as you are willing to pay for it...we have quite a few texas runs....mostly laredo and dallas...BUT with panther you can book a backhaul to get yourself home. It may just cover operating expenses but still...no reason to not get home in a tractor...as long as you realize YOU will be responsible to get yourself there.

4. 20-25% dh...empty is up to you and where you choose to relocate.

That sounds pretty nice...I am also getting my six months experience out of the way so I can join the Big Cat's tractor fleet :)

Could be 1.20 to 1.35 depending on the contract. Reefers are 1.55 to 1.75 plus fsc.

He is referring to the E unit rate of pay......he drives tractor, hence 6 months exp. The rate is 1.45, if you have 3 or more can go on different contract for 1.55. Government and refrigerated pay differently....standard tractor = 1.45 + fsc
