We now live in S. Dakota. When leaving home we currently drive to South Beloit to get back into the lanes. BUT Denver is only 5 hours away verses 16 hrs. Is there any freight out of or near Denver?

Here is my take. If you are home, you could book a advance LTL load right out of S.D. Same thing for Denver. If looking at just expedite, Lincoln or Omaha may be a option depending on whether there are trucks there. Iowa has some options depending on the time of year and how many trucks are there ect. These would be closer options than IL.
I am assuming that you are with Panther. DHing 16 hours is a long way.

Nope not P2...Dynamex you see they are a sponsor now? When my visa goes thru we are think of jumping to P2 or FDEXCC because we won't be trapped in the traditional lanes of a smaller company. We've been doing P2 loads out of the Chicago area and The 2 companies seem to get along well!

>Ask your carrier how they do out of Minneapolis/St.Paul.

Been there, done that...doesn't do well there. Wisconsin is better. Been with these guys 4 years I know where most of thier customers are in the midwest to the east coast.

Presuming from your name that you are driving a van I don't know how much help it would be. If you are in a truck and still using an original screen name then getloaded.com might be useful. I did a search using Pierre as the starting point and came up with 1470# from Savage, MN to Bourbon, IN and 3000# from Cannon Falls, MN to Anniston, AL. there were several other loads that went into the freight zones but they were all definitely truck only weight. Anniston is really heavier than a van load too but was closer. Anyway, I can't improve on Dave's suggested alternate locations. I just thought I'd mention getloaded.com in case it could help as well.

You know more about Dynamex than I do, but both Panther and Fedex do a fair amount of freight out of Minn/St.Paul area.
Something to keep in mind if you are researching other companies.
