President Reagan was comfortable using the dual teleprompters, during his time in office. W preferred using large index cards. Obama, obiviously, likes using the teleprompters.

President Reagan was also an extremely gifted extemporaneous speaker. A gift honed by conviction.

I think Reagan did it a bit differently than Obama with the teleprompter thing.

See Reagan knew how to improvise when giving a speech, if the thing cr*pped out on him, he didn't stand there in a mental "duh" loop trying to figure out what to say next - like a deer in the headlights. I never heard Reagan ever reading the wrong speech, where Obama if I remember right has.
