"Poverty Loads" or "Is this really all there is?"

Keep in mind I am a solo D unit.

I left home on Monday, 58 miles to pick up in Atlanta, delivered to Conway, SC on Tuesday morning, took first option to Charlotte at regular DH rate, sat all day Tuesday and Wednesday, left for Atlanta with only option planning gave me, 50 cents per mile to... Atlanta, arrive home Wednesday night at 2300, start turning down the same loads at 10:30 Thursday. I just spent 3 days driving 881 miles at an average of 74 cents per mile. This doesn't work. Is anyone else getting trapped by these loads? I negotiate with them on these loads as a rule and turn them down so much my acceptance percentage is in the toilet but took this one in hopes of just getting out and into the lanes to get rolling. By the way I checked the VRU for loads dispatched out of Charlotte before going, 12 or more almost every day but.... White Glove. Wednesday one non WG D went out and it wasn't me. Five D's in the Charlotte Express Center when I left.

Don't the loads seem to pop up AFTER you leave an area? I dropped in Miami on Friday, just behind someone else. He took off for SC. Monday afternoon, I got loaded to NC. If he only knew... ;)

No kiddin... I never check behind myself after I decide to leave an area. I torture myself enough as it is...

I will add after turning down several of those loads Wed. I got a good payer to Louisville that night. So now I'm sitting there.
