Hey all , great forum you have here , lots of good people and a ton of good information. I have spent alot of time surfing around this site and have a few questions i wonder if someone could take some time to answer.
I live in the I75 - 80/90 ( Toledo) corridor. I seem to see alot of straight trucks coming and going from the truck stops around here. Always wanted to stop and chat with them , but dont want to disturb a person in his "home away from home". Havent been lucky enough to see one outside his truck just begging to have someone come up and talk shop

I am considering the pros/cons of this busniess -- have been for a long time.
My turnoffs about it -- 4-6 weeks out at a time? Great for some people , but just not for me. ( I do not mean to be disrespctful to those that do it ... i know its just not for me)
Given my location , and the amount of trucks i see going in and out ( and a fed -ex truck i see parked at some ones house 2-3 times a week) are short runs or stops at home even a possiblilty?
Is a truck owner going to be happy with this , or does he/she just want the wheels turning as much as the HOS will allow?
Would a truck owner consider letting a hard working , dependable , honest person .. try the busniess out ( for a lack of better words?)
I know a O/O can pick and choose what he wants to do ( to extent) .... will a owner allow the same ... providing this wasnt a suprise to the owner?
Is anyone willing to talk over a cup of coffee or whatever at one of the TS in the NW ohio area?
I think i could make this work --- but i am going off of limited information -- i get the sense alot of people dont want to share there tricks of trade for good reasons.
