Heating / Cooling Portable A/C

Has anyone successfully installed a hard start capacitor to a portable ac unit, we have a 8000btu LG.

I haven't. I know they can be installed in RV rooftop and home units, but I'm not sure about portable units. I recall reading Q&A and reviews of one particular hard start capacitor on Amazon where one person said they used it on their portable unit and another person saying it can't be used on portable units. So who knows. I'd check with LG and with an HVAC professional about it.
