Poland's Eastern Border: A Contrast in Policies

Although it's hardly been mentioned in the US news media, it should be interesting to us all that Poland has been besieged at its eastern border with Belarus by thousands of migrants, mostly from the Middle East. For years, Poland has taken a hard line against Muslims and other immigrants after seeing the effect open borders have had on Germany, France and Great Britain. Unlike the Biden administration's policy of opening our southern border to anyone, Poland has fortified their eastern border and has sent troops to protect it. It's worth taking a moment to compare the crime rates and standards of living in Poland compared to the other European countries that have opened their borders to hoards of migrants from less civilized countries.

"During a special session of parliament, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki described the situation at the border as part of an effort by Russia to disrupt a region that it controlled during the Soviet era that ended three decades ago...
The crisis has been simmering for months after the EU countries of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia that border Belarus accused the government in Minsk of encouraging thousands of migrants, mostly from the Middle East, to illegally enter those nations. Many of the migrants often end up stuck in a forested area of swamps and bogs, pushed back and forth between Belarusian and Polish forces."

Meanwhile, back in the USA Biden and the American Marxist Democrats are debating how many millions of dollars to give illegal immigrants who've been inconvenienced by our govt after being arrested while trying to sneak into our country during the Trump and Obama years. Maybe they should instead be seeking advice from their Polish friends regarding border control and protecting the culture of their citizens.

Well we all know uncle Vlad has always considered Ukraine as part of the soviet union.
Under the trump administration, Putin would have had free reign to march right across eastern Europe with no resistance or help from the U.S, and now because trumps gone, Putin has to try and do things the hard way by destabilizing the region and then riding to the rescue by claiming he is trying to bring stability and order, exactly like donald trump did. I think that's the part that baffles me the most. How so many people could support trump knowing how controlled he was by Moscow. Russia had a free, unwittingly stupid mole at the highest level of U.S governement and now that he's gone, Putin has to use different tactics now before he acts, LoL!

LoL! There you have it folks, you can't have an intelligent convo with a person who is blind to the truth.
Come on, he made so many excuses for Russia during his presidency (including a hack that everyone else in his admininstration admitted was carried out by Russia) and he still tried to deflect the truth on that and blame it on China.

You would think Putin had a tape of him pissing on a Russian prostitute or something.....Oh wait, he does, LoL!

Ya but Putin's not really his friend, he's just playing him. Unfortunately because Biden is nothing more than a typical ineffective politician and bureaucrat which represents everything Trump supporters hated in the first place, there is a very good chance that Trump will be back as president and if he is successful, you can bet he will do whatever he and his proud boy minions can do to make him president for life. Funny how these people only want democracy went it's admininstered from their point of view....

The idea that under Trump "Putin would have had free reign to march right across eastern Europe with no resistance" is laughable. During Trump's first fourteen months in office, one of the first things he did to counter Russian aggression was to authorize lethal military aid to Ukraine.

"While former President Barack Obama’s administration continuously rejected lethal weapons exports after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014, Trump is said to have personally approved the policy. Whether he told his staff to downplay the decision is immaterial. In fact, Trump has gone even further, selling Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine. These moves could fundamentally change the balance of power on the ground. To be sure, Moscow retains substantial military advantages, but U.S.-made Javelins in Ukrainian hands will reduce the Kremlin’s incentive for large-scale hostilities."

The above article offers a good summary of the Trump policy towards Russia, which was certainly more hard-line than that of Obama. However, we now have a senile weakling as POTUS and a gang of Marxist underlings effectively running the country. Having seen how Biden handled his unconditional surrender in Afghanistan, it's no wonder Putin sees his way clear to initiate advances on NATO's eastern border - that of Poland. The amount of support that NATO and the US will offer remains to be seen.

I disagree. Putin was already building troops at the Ukraine border before the Nov election. He was only waiting for Trump to win a second term and it would have been a full on invasion at Putin's leisure. Trump openly admires Putin and would not lift a finger to help Ukraine. Any missiles sent to uikraine were only window dressing to make things look good but as soon as Putin attacks, trump would turn his back on Ukraine and Nato and if you believe otherwise you are truly naive. Trump almost destroyed Nato during his last term as President. But then you probably believe that Parler isn't run from Russia either, LoL!

Complete nonsense. In spite of Trump's nagging NATO members to pay their agreed-upon share of expenses (2.5% of GDP), he actually contributed more money and troops into NATO causes than Obama. It was true that the US has been propping up NATO for decades, and it was long overdue for an American president to call them out as deadbeats. The result was a more equitable cost sharing arrangement and a stronger NATO buildup of troops - including Americans - in Europe.

"Most of that jump in spending was on the European Deterrence Initiative, an effort to strengthen U.S. military forces in Europe begun by the Obama administration in response to Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea and continued backing of pro-Russia separatists in Ukraine...
The Trump administration has more than tripled what its predecessor spent on the EDI: A total of $17.2 billion has been requested for the initiative in the three annual budgets the current White House has sent to Congress, which in turn has approved those funding levels...
There are also more U.S. troops in Europe now than at the end of the Obama administration."

In the final analysis, Trump kept Putin in his place by providing a strong deterrence against Russia in Eastern Europe while drawing down American troop numbers in other areas across the globe. To claim that he turned his back on Ukraine or undermined NATO in any way is...truly naive. Facts are stubborn things.

I agree completely that the other members were not paying their fair share and good for Trump for calling them out on it. Not everything he did was wrong. However Trump admires Putin, that part is painfully obvious. He even said so himself. Because of that admiration, he will throw the Ukraine and Nato under the bus the first chance he gets to let his buddy Vlad have his way and anyone who doesn't think so is very naive.

Trump was just being diplomatic with Putin. Quit being suckered by the phony Russia narratives from Fake News.

Riiiiiiighhhhtttttttt! His own people with all the hard evidence in the world couldn't convince Trump that Russia was behind the solar winds hack.
I have no doubt the mindless Trumptards will say he was only being diplomatic about that as well. If that's the case, then why did he openly blame it on China instead?

Why wasn't he being diplomatic then? Because he has financial interests in Russia, that's why. And those same financial interests coupled with his love of dictatorships and especially Putin (he openly admits he want's to make himself president for life just like his buddy Vlad recently did) will cause him to throw Nato right under the bus.

Oh, and to the original post.....Donald Trump, Vladmir Putin, and all dicatator's playbooks are the same. That is to start trouble anonymously by sowing the seeds of distrust and destabilization, and then invade under the guise of riding to the rescue saying you are bringing stability to the area. That's all Trump did his entire presidency (I can give you many many examples) and if you looked for the "real" news you would find out that Putin is the one who not only bussed, but even flew some of those migrants to the border. He will use them as pawns as an excuse to invade under the pretence of the above.

Also, France's PM has become pretty chummy with Putin as of late, probably in hopes of convincing him to not turn off the natural gas taps to Europe in the dead of winter. Because Putin already has everyone by the short and curly's and can freeze them out in a heartbeat whenever he wants, there's very little chance of a unified Nato coming to the rescue when Putin execute's the plan he has been hatching since the day he took office and that plan is to return the soviet union to it's former glory, and that won't stop with annexing just the Ukraine.....
