WOW!
We now can create seamless composites of locations by taking images from different websites across the world.
What a terrorist greatest dream, between what we can do with Google earth and now this, someone doesn’t have to survey any building or location in person, just type in the address and let the software do the rest!
What’s next?
A coordination of NYTs online collection of CIA classified intelligence reports and photographs from sat services and u2 flights?
Now all kidding aside (or was I?), I heard about this before in one of th MS releases I get and thought is great. If they can reach into the archives of some photo collections from the past with modernization of the image, I think we would really be cooking.
Well, I have a real serious reason to say it and I think you know what I mean when I say in a perfect utopia information sharing is great.
But just imagine this for a moment, a bunch of years back I was at a MS sponsored event on high security and critical data systems development for the government some where out there in Tallcals area. All these CIA type looking people were presenting these papers on all kinds of neat subject, like Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman and how to hack DES but one of them was about the up and coming use of Windows based OS's on military platforms, like naval ships, and what will be needed to develop applications for the new 'secure' system. But would you or better yet, could you trust your Fast Frigate or Destroyer to Windows Vista, naval ship version not to take a dump at the worst time possible?
Are they evil and bent on world domination?
