Personal and business use in other states

I'm considering different options for a small business with a sprinter van.

If I set up business making local runs under my own authority with commercial insurance, bonds, etc., is it legal to drive my van to another state for personal reasons if I'm not carrying cargo?

If I'm set up to drive to just my neighboring states (OK, KS, MO, NE) what states have special rules I have to consider if driving outside that area?

If you have decals on your van, cover them up. If not, don't worry about it. For anything bigger than a van, you would put a "not for hire" sign on your truck.
