Pay day

1. How is an o/o driving solo in a cargo paid? Assuming the o/o is contracted by one of the major expediting companies.

2. I have read about picking up a load from a broker other than the broker a person is contracted to. How does that work, and how are you paid for that load?

3. I have also read that a passenger seat is required in a cargo van. That's a lot of wasted space. Is that true?

Thanks. :+ :+

Most companies either pay weekly or bi-weekly. They can hold a settlement from a run for up to 15 day. Some contracts might as well have a provision that allows them to retain a certain amount to cover losses in the event you leave. It is simular to a escrow account. When you leave the carrier and they have their qc, permits ect. they send you the rest. I believe they have 30 days in which to comply.
I don't know why you couldn't take out the passenger seat in a van. If you can't, that may be a individual company policy.
If you are doing a load for a broker you would be paid through your company as you would be hauling it under their authority. If you have your own authority it would be your responsibility to collect.
