im thinking of joining panther with my driving buddy. we heard that it cost $250 at orientation and your not hired until after you pay that and re fill out paper work, is this true or can someone tell us what happens

When we went thru orientation we didnt pay 250. to get hired. It seems like they will hold some out of your settlement to cover the cost of the physical and drug screen. But we didnt have to pay that out of our pocket to get hired. :)

Who did you hear that from? If you didn't hear it from your recruiter or an officer of the company then it's worth a cup of coffee... if you add a dollar to it. One of the most important rules in this business is do not believe most of what you hear. You are not required to hand over any money at orientation. You need money though because you won't get paid for about 3 weeks and you'll get hungry before that.

Leo's information is accurate. I have never heard of a request for funds prior to orientation.

You will have to fill out paperwork and sit thru some classes. When i was there i had drove for about 2 years and i still found the classes to be beneficial. they don't "hire" you until the last day of orientation because they have to what for your drug test to come back. if you can pee clean and stay awake during the classes you should be good to go.

well i had seen it on ripoffreports.com after someone told me something like it. but excellent i was worried about that. another question would be do i have to pay to get to orientation and pay hotels or is that covered by the company to. and thanks yall for your replys.

you are gonna be an independent contractor therefore you are on your own. if you are going to work for a fleet owner they may pay your way, but chances are they won't. if you have your own truck you'll drive it to oreintation and you can stay the night in it.
